Karola Obermüller

Karola Obermüller (born March 21, 1977 near Darmstadt ) is a German composer .

Life

Karola Obermüller began her training at the Academy for Music in Darmstadt. She studied composition with Volker Blumenthaler (Meistersinger Conservatory / University of Music Nuremberg ), Theo Brandmüller ( University of Music Saar ) and Adriana Hölszky ( Mozarteum Salzburg). In 2003 she moved to Harvard University ( Cambridge, Massachusetts ); from 2006 she taught music theory and composition there. She has been teaching at the University of New Mexico since 2010 .
