Dorothee Eberhardt

Dorothee Eberhardt (born January 23, 1952 in Memmingen ) is a German composer and music teacher.

Life

Dorothee Eberhardt was introduced to music as a child. She received accordion and piano lessons from an early age. A little later, the lessons were expanded to include saxophone and clarinet. After graduating from high school, she studied oriental studies , philosophy and Greek at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , completing her degree in 1979 with a doctorate.

She went to London in 1980 and studied musicology, composition (with Antonin Tucapsky) and clarinet at the university and the Trinity College of Music . There she was already working as a freelancer for music publishers.

After completing her studies, she worked in London as a composer and music teacher. She has lived near Munich since 1992.
