Arc de Triomf stop

In June 1926, the first metro line in Barcelona - today's L1 - was opened. a. opened up the central square of Plaça de Catalunya . As early as 1863, the Plaça de Catalunya was the terminus of the suburban train Metro del Vallès . With the introduction of the underground , the lines from Manresa and Latour-de-Carol were also to be brought to Plaça de Catalunya in order to establish a central transfer point there.

service

The section between the stations of Sants and Arc de Triomf is the southern trunk line of the S-Bahn -like suburban railways Rodalies , it is served by lines R1, R3 and R4.

Route description

The Meridiana tunnel leads out of the Aragó tunnel in a south-easterly direction at the level of Carrer de Casanova . From the University of Barcelona at Plaça Universitat, the routes of the railway line and the L1 metro line are largely parallel. The Metro del Vallès is crossed without crossing under Carrer de Balmes .

Catalunya

At the central Plaça de Catalunya, a four-track transfer station was built between the Rodalies and the metro. The outer tracks are used by the metro, the inner ones by the rodalies. A direct transition between the trains is not possible, as the regional trains stop at a central platform, those of the metro at the outer side platforms.

Arc de Triomf

The stop comprises two side platforms. After the breakpoint, the route turns north and runs below the Avinguda Meridiana. Immediately afterwards, the line branches off to El Clot-Aragó station.

La Sagrera Meridiana

The stop is an important transfer point between metro lines L9 North and L10 in the north of Barcelona.

Sant Andreu Arenal

End of the parallel section between the metro and the railroad. The tunnel section ends shortly before Torre Baró.
