The Merivale River is a river in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland .
The river has its source in the south of Carnarvon National Park on the western slopes of Mount Eden . It flows through the small town of Sunrise and flows into the Maranoa River at Forest Vale .
Sandy Creek , Box Creek, and Smith Creek are its major tributaries.
