Merv Lincoln

Merv Lincoln (actually Mervyn George Lincoln; born November 22, 1933 in Leongatha , Victoria , † April 30, 2016 in Melbourne ) was an Australian middle-distance runner .

In 1956 he was twelfth over 1500 m at the Olympic Games in Melbourne .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 , he won silver over a mile behind his compatriot Herb Elliott .

In 1960 he retired at the Olympic Games in Rome over 1500 m in the run.

In 1959 he was Australian champion over a mile.
