Meta Merz

Meta Merz (born April 14, 1965 as Christina-Maria Haidegger in Salzburg ; † September 9, 1989 ibid) was an Austrian writer .

Life

Meta Merz was the daughter of Eberhard and Christine Haidegger . She studied German, English, art history and philosophy. In her self-portrayal, she has been writing seriously addicted to poetry since 1986.

Works

  • 1987: Performance “orakel des delphins” on the occasion of Otto Beck's Arche project on the Salzach .
  • 1988:
    • Ars Electronica “the steps in space pass” to the electroacoustic performance “moved - frozen”.
    • "The well" (Stadtkino Salzburg)
    • "Memory", own composition literary, diagonal with projections.
  • 1989: “in those bright night”, text performance on the subject of light, shadow, departure, enlightenment.
  • 1990: "erotik der distanz", Wiener Frauenverlag; compiled from her estate.
  • 1994/95: the text “the child in the soup” was brought to the stage as a staged performance in the Salzburg Toihaus Theater
  • 1996: “metaphysics of desire”, Wiener Frauenverlag; compiled from her estate.

Awards

  • Advancement award of the Rauris Literature Award 1987
  • Junior scholarship for literature from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education and the Arts in 1988

Meta Merz Prize

The Meta Merz Prize is awarded to Austrian authors born after April 14, 1965. The previous winners were Kathrin Röggla in 1995 , Bettina Balàka and Angelika Reitzer in 1999 .
