The Arnold AG is a metal processing company based in Friedrichsdorf . She has gained particular fame through the production of works of art by well-known artists such as Jeff Koons .

history

The company was founded in 1924 by master locksmith Karl Arnold in Frankfurt am Main as a locksmith's shop. In 1961 his son Rolf Arnold moved the company to Ober-Erlenbach and started industrial metal processing. In 1966 the company moved to Friedrichsdorf. The number of employees grew to 80 and rose to 135 by the mid-1980s. The main focus of the business was industrial supplies both in Germany and abroad (South America, Middle East).

After reunification, Arnold-Diller GmbH was established as a subsidiary in Herges-Hallenberg, Thuringia . In 1993/94 the group employed more than 200 people and achieved group sales of over DM 40 million. In 2001, several Arnold companies were converted into a stock corporation.

In 2008, the company implemented its largest foreign project to date. It designed and built the connecting roof and the pedestrian bridge between the parking garage and Terminal 3 building at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport. There were also several canopies, cladding and the Arnosol shading system.

In 2016, the company had around 350 permanent employees and 35 trainees and achieved a company output of almost 45 million euros.

Uwe Arnold has been the third generation managing director since autumn 1999. In Friedrichsdorf, prototypes are more likely to be produced, while at Steinbach-Hallenberg in Thuringia, series products and works of art are manufactured.
