Vera Röhm

Vera Röhm (* 1943 in Landsberg am Lech ) is a German sculptor , set designer , painter and graphic artist .

Life

Röhm was born in Landsberg am Lech and lived in Geneva and Darmstadt as a child . From 1961 to 1967 she studied at the Académie Charpentier in Paris and at the École Cantonale des Beaux-Arts et des Arts Appliqués in Lausanne .

In 1968 Röhm traveled to New York , New Mexico and California, among others, to create her works .

In 1972 the first metal and stone works in connection with Plexiglas are made . The first additions followed three years later, combining wood and plexiglass. In 1985 she began the series of works The night is the shadow of the earth. Röhm has been a member of the Darmstadt Secession since 1990 . In 1995 Röhm traveled to India to document historical observatories in New Delhi , Jaipur and Ujjain .

Röhm now lives in Darmstadt and Paris.
