Methods of Mayhem is an American rap metal band that was founded by drummer Tommy Lee after leaving Mötley Crüe and the day before his divorce with Pamela Anderson .
history
Tommy Lee had longed to leave Mötley Crüe and get into the rap business. After four months in prison in 1998, he made the final decision to put his plan into action. He put this decision into practice in 1999 and founded the band Methods of Mayhem with well-known DJs. He had already written a few songs in prison.
In 1999 the album Methods of Mayhem was released , on which Fred Durst , Lil 'Kim , Kid Rock and Snoop Dogg were also represented. Despite its platinum status, it fell far below expectations commercially. The singles Get Naked and New Skin were also released .
Due to lack of success, Tommy Lee broke up the band in 2000.
In 2009, Tommy Lee announced the band's reunion and announced a new album called Public Mayhem for the following year. This was published on September 21, 2010 under the changed title A Public Disservice Announcement , but performed even worse in the charts than its predecessor.
Trivia
In the video for Get naked , all people are completely naked except for guest singers Lil 'Kim and Fred Durst and their dancers.
Methods of Mayhem occurred in 2000 on the Ozzfest of Ozzy Osbourne and on the German festival Rock am Ring on.
Tommy Lee and DJ Aero also founded the band WTF? . In addition, DJ Aero is present at all Mötley Crüe concerts and can be hired as a DJ for parties together with Tommy Lee.
