Metod Pirih

Metod Pirih (born May 9, 1934 in Lokovec ) is emeritus Bishop of Koper .

Life

Metod Pirih received the on 29 June 1963 ordination and was in the clergy of the diocese of Koper incardinated .

Pope John Paul II appointed him coadjutor bishop of Koper on March 25, 1985 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Bishop of Koper, Janez Jenko , on May 27th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Franc Kramberger , Bishop of Maribor , and Alojzij Šuštar , Archbishop of Ljubljana .

After Janez Jenko's retirement , he succeeded him on April 16, 1987 as Bishop of Koper. Pope Benedict XVI On May 26, 2012 he accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.
