Metzdorf ( Luxembourgish Metzduerf ) is a district of the local municipality Langsur in the district of Trier-Saarburg in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Metzdorf is located in the Sauer Valley. The B 418 runs through the village . Neighboring towns are Grewenich in the east, Mesenich in the south and the Sauer Moersdorf in the west on the Luxembourg side .
history
In 1350 the village is mentioned for the first time as "Mettendorf". In the 14th century the village was owned by the St. Paulin Monastery in Trier . In 1570 the subsidiary church St. Nikolaus is mentioned for the first time in a document. In 1913 Metzdorf had its own school and in 1915 it even had its own railway connection with a station on the Igel-Bitburg line. The railway line has been closed since 1968. The B 418 now runs along the former route.
Attractions
On the Römerstraße in the center of the village there is the Catholic branch church St. Nikolaus, which belongs to the parish of Mesenich.
