content

When Alberto announces his wedding to Ileana, his grandmother Tina decides to attend, although that means going to the big city, which she had previously avoided. As a rich widow of a soldier, she supported Alberto for years, even if everything she tackles ends in chaos. When a locket is stolen from her on the way, she forbids the wedding until it is found. In the city hotel where she lives, she suspects everyone and everyone because the police seem to be making no headway; so she suspects a gang of gangsters is behind the crime and gets Alberto to face it, which turns out to be a group of aging wannabe playboys. Grandma Tina is taken to a madhouse because of her wild suspicions. Since Ileana now fears that the wedding could therefore never take place, she clarifies the matter.

criticism

  • U. Tani wrote in the magazine Intermezzo in 1958 : “Tina Pica, meanwhile announced as" Star ", is one of the pillars of our production. Some call what she is doing brilliant (a little exaggerated); but at least it satisfies the public with a bit of good taste - at least in the provinces and in the country. ”(quoted from Roberto Chiti, Roberto Poppi, Enrico Lancia, Mario Pecorari: Dizionario del cinema italiano. I film , Vol. 2; 1991)
