Michèle Gurdal is a Belgian pianist .

Life

Michèle Yuki Gurdal was born near Brussels to a Belgian pilot and music lover and a Japanese artist. She began playing the piano at the age of six and made her debut at the age of nine with Joseph Haydn's Concerto in D major on Belgian television with the Belgian Chamber Orchestra. Eight years later she completed her studies at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in the subjects of piano, chamber music and music history with the Diplom de Premier Prix. She studied with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling (Hanover), who conveyed her sense of style and respect for the original text of a work, with Homero Francesch (Zurich), whose precision and elegance shaped her, and with Anatol Ugorski (Detmold), who showed her understanding of the Refined the inseparability of spiritual penetration and emotional sensation in music.

In 2005 Michèle Gurdal received a scholarship from the International Piano Academy Lake Como . Here she continues to work with Dmitri Bashkirov , Leon Fleisher , Menahem Pressler , Fou Tsong , William-Grant Naboré, Andreas Staier , John Perry and Claude Frank . She also received a scholarship from the Wilhelm Kempff Foundation to study the work of Ludwig van Beethoven together with John O'Conor .

repertoire

At the age of 9 Michèle Gurdal played the piano concerto in G major by Joseph Haydn on Belgian television RTBF together with the “Orchester de chambre de Wallonie” . As a ten year old she performed Impromptu Opus 90 No. 4 by Franz Schubert on French television (FR3) . At the age of 12 she played WA Mozart's piano concerto KV-466 with the Orchester National de Belgique . During her time at the "International Piano Academy Lake Como" she played the fantasy pieces Opus 12 by Robert Schumann on the Italian television RAI 3.
