Michaël Heylen (born January 3, 1994 in Brussels ) is a Belgian football player who has been playing for FC Emmen since the end of August 2019 .

society

In his youth Heylen played for Ternesse VV, Germinal Beerschot and RSC Anderlecht . From here he was awarded to the KV Kortrijk directly in his first professional season . He made his first division debut on September 14, 2013 in a 3-0 win over KAA Gent . After his return he did not play a major role as a supplementary player in the club and was awarded to the KVC Westerlo for the 2016/17 season . In 2017, league rivals SV Zulte Waregem signed him firmly.

Heylen was no longer part of Waregem's squad from the restart of play after the 2018/19 winter break. Only in the last two games of the main round was he back in the squad, but was actually not used. At this point, Waregem had reached a place in the lower midfield, could no longer be relegated, but could no longer reach the championship play-off.

Only in the subsequent play-off 2 he was in five of ten games, each over the full playing time on the field.

In the new 2019/20 season , he was again not part of the squad in the first five games of the season. At the end of August 2019, Heylen moved to the Dutch club FC Emmen , which at that time was playing in the Eredivisie , the highest Dutch league. Heylen signed a contract there for one year, with the option of extending it for another year.

National team

From 2013 to 2016, Heylen played a total of 15 games for Belgium's U-21s , in which he scored once.
