Michael Anderson (jazz musician)

Michael Anderson (* 1969 in Anaheim / California ) is an American jazz trumpeter .

biography

Anderson began studying music at the Cornish College of the Arts in 1988 , which he dropped out in 1990. He then had lessons from Julian Priester , Jerry Granelli and James Knapp , played experimental jazz and salsa , a. a. with the Spontaneous Combustion Ensemble , the Young Composer's Collective and Briggan Krauss and worked on Eyvind Kang's album 7 Nades .

In 1995 he came to Berlin. Here he became a member of the groups Nickendes Perlgras (with Eric Schaefer and Michael Thieke ) and Eric Schaefer Demontage (with Eric Schaefer, Michael Thieke, Daniel Erdmann and Johannes Fink ). As a member of the Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin , he took part in the performance of works by Salvatore Sciarrino and Michael Sell in Turin, Strasbourg and at the Donaueschinger Musiktage . He also worked on theater productions a. a. with the Berliner Ensemble .
