Surat Sukha (born July 27, 1982 in Sakon Nakhon ) is a Thai football player and was considered one of the greatest talents in Thai football. Since January 2019 he has been without a contract and without a club.
Career
Surat spent his youth at the Assumption Sriracha School before signing as a professional with Chonburi FC in 2006 . There he played together with his twin brother Suree Sukha in defense. He was appointed to the national team for the first time at the age of 25 and so far has 14 appearances. Under national coach Peter Reid , he took part in the 2008 ASEAN soccer championships . With FC Chonburi he won the Thai championship in 2007 and played in the AFC Champions League in 2008 . On May 14, 2009 it was announced that he will move to the A-League in Australia to the Melbourne Victory . The transfer fee was 1.5 million baht and he was given a 2-year contract. He is the first player of Thai nationality to switch to the Australian professional league.
On August 15, 2009, he was substituted on in the league game against Brisbane Roar , in the 78th minute, and thus played his first game for Melbourne Victory . In his first season with Melbourne Victory, he came on 18 missions. An injury break of 6 weeks prevented even more missions. In the Grand Final of the A-League season 2009/10 he was in the starting line-up. In April 2010, Melbourne extended its current contract until 2012.
Nevertheless, he returned to Thailand in the summer of 2011 and has played for FC Buriram PEA since then .
