Michael Angstenberger
Michael Angstenberger (born January 2, 1717 in Reichstadt ; † May 15, 1789 in Vienna ) was an Austrian hymn composer .
Life
Michael Angstenberger, who comes from Bohemia , received a scholarship for the Prague Order of the Holy Cross , which accepted him in 1738. Angstenberger had studied hard and composed some works. His first Mass celebration was held 1743rd In later years he went to Karlsbad as dean and in 1768 received the command of the Karlskirche in Vienna . He remained that way until his death on May 15, 1789 at the age of 72.
Angstenberger composed sacred melodies in the style of Antonio Lotti . His works were very popular in his time and were sung especially at church celebrations.
