Michael Becker (lawyer)

Michael Becker (* 1955 ) is a German legal scholar.

Life

He studied law at Saarland University . After the state exams and the judicial traineeship in Saarland , the doctorate in 1984 with Volker Emmerich with a commercial law topic, he was assistant at the Institute for European Law at the University of Saarland, first with Bernhard Aubin , then with Günther Jahr . Then he completed an LL.M. - Degree in corporation law from New York University . He then worked as a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, responsible for the country departments for Switzerland, Liechtenstein and the USA.
