Michael Cuffee (born July 12, 1983 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American basketball player . The swingman has been playing in France since 2015 and is currently active for JL Bourg Basket in the French league .
Career
High school and college
At Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia , Cuffee gained his first experience as a basketball player .
Michael Cuffee later started his college basketball career at Neosho County Community College in the state of Kansas and moved to Middle Tennessee State University two years later . In his senior year he averaged 14.3 points and 7.4 rebounds and was voted the top rebounder of the Sun Belt Conference .
Professional career
During his professional career, Cuffee found a job in a few clubs and gained a lot of international experience. At the beginning of his professional career he played for some time in Scandinavia with clubs in Denmark and Finland , then made stops in some D-League clubs in the USA , before moving to Italy and then to Qatar .
In the 2012-2013 season, Cuffee was part of the Sundsvall Dragons in Sweden, where, as often before, he was under contract only a year ago. This season he was in the starting five in all 46 games.
In 2013 he moved to the German basketball league for the Mitteldeutscher Basketball Club . In the 2013-2014 season, Cuffee put on 13.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists for Weißenfels and was voted top performer of the month for March by the fans of the basketball league.
At the Worldwide Invitational 2014 in Las Vegas , Tübingen's couch Igor Perović was convinced of the qualities of Michael Cuffee and so the Walter Tigers Tübingen signed him for the 2014-2015 season.
Personal
Michael Cuffee has two brothers and four sisters. The 1.95 m tall Guard grew up in rather humble circumstances in Philadelphia . Cuffee is now the father of two twin girls.
