Augustine "Auggie" Cuero Rubit (born August 14, 1989 in Houston , Texas ) is an American basketball player . The forward played at Olympiacos in Greece since 2019 .

Career

High school and college

Augustine Rubit played his entire college career with the South Alabama Jaguars in the Sun Belt Conference . Rubit set the 17-year-old rebound record of 1010 in Muntrelle Dobbins' Sun Belt Conference and expanded the record to a total of 1183 by his senior year. In addition, when he left the college team, Rubit was the second-best scorer with 1917 points and third-best in the history of the University of South Alabama with 136 blocks .

Professional career

Rubit began his career as a professional basketball player in Germany with the Walter Tigers Tübingen in the basketball league . He received a one-year contract in Neckarstadt for the 2014/15 season. With 14 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, Rubit immediately became the dominant player in the Tübingen team and contributed significantly to the team's relegation again.

After his contract expired in summer 2015, he joined Ratiopharm ulm for the 2015/2016 season . With Ulm as the main round seventh, Rubit moved into the BBL playoffs and ultimately became German runner-up. In the Eurocup 2015/16 Rubit qualified with the Ulm team for the second group phase, in which they were later eliminated. Also in the EuroCup 2016/17 Rubit and Ulm were eliminated early in the second group phase without a win.

In the summer of 2017 Rubit signed a three-year contract with the German series champion Brose Bamberg and competed with him in the EuroLeague in the 2017/18 season . In the European club competition he achieved 10.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and in the Bundesliga on 14.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per match.

In July 2019 Rubin was signed by the top Greek team Olympiacos Piraeus .

The Forward grew up in the US state of Texas as one of seven children under rather difficult circumstances.
