Michael Devaney (athlete)
Michael Devaney ( Michael Aloysius "Mike" Devaney; born June 6, 1891 in Belleville , New Jersey ; † January 25, 1967 ibid.) Was an American obstacle , medium and long-distance runner .
At the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920, he was fifth over 3000 m obstacle . In the 3,000-meter team race , he delivered a strike result for the victorious US team in twelfth place.
In 1924 he was seventh over 3000 m obstacle at the Olympic Games in Paris .
He was US champion over two miles obstacle four times (1916, 1919, 1921, 1922) and once over 880 yards (1917). In 1915 he was US indoor champion over two miles.
