Michael Ebert (journalist)

Michael Ebert (born August 3, 1974 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German journalist and book author .

Life

Michael Ebert graduated from high school in 1994 and then did community service at a school for physically and mentally handicapped children. From 1995 to 1997 he completed an internship at the Schwäbische Zeitung . From 1997 to 1999 he studied law at the University of Munich and worked as an author for the now magazine of the Süddeutsche Zeitung , the Badische Zeitung , Elle , Rolling Stone and stern . In 2003 he came to Neon , the young magazine of Stern magazine . There he was editor-in-chief alongside Timm Klotzek since 2006 . Since 2013 he has been editor-in-chief of the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin.

Ebert redesigned the fluter magazine for the Federal Agency for Civic Education .

In 2006 he was named “Journalist of the Year” together with Timm Klotzek.

Together with Klotzek, he wrote the book Planen oder let drift? How you can tell whether you are thinking too much or too little about your life , which was published by Heyne Verlag in 2009 . He also developed the magazine Nido with Timm Klotzek , which appeared for the first time in 2009. After Klotzek switched to SZ-Magazin , he was the sole editor-in-chief of Nido from July 2011 to autumn 2012 .
