Michael Eckroth

Michael "Mike" Eckroth (born May 30, 1975 in Bismarck ) is an American jazz musician ( piano , composition ) of modern jazz and Latin jazz .

Live and act

Eckroth received his PhD from New York University and from the 2000s worked in New York with musicians such as John Scofield (with whom he was a guest at the Paris Club New Morning ), Eliot Zigmund and Paul McCandless . He also played with Latin bands such as the Orquesta Akokan around José "Pepito" Gómez (album on Daptone Records). He also appeared with various bands from Dan Pratt , Russ Nolan, Ron McClure , Brian Lynch , Gerry Gibbs and Marshall McDonald in New York clubs such as the Smalls and Mezzrow, as well as with his own formation La Voz de Tres and the Orquesta Akokán , for which he also arranged and composed. In the field of jazz, he was involved in 21 recording sessions between 2004 and 2017.
