Michael Gahler (born April 22, 1960 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a member of the CDU for Hesse in the European People's Party and vice-president of the European Movement Germany network .

Life and education

Michael Gahler grew up in the Frankfurt district of Zeilsheim and attended the Friedrich-Dessauer-Gymnasium in Höchst until he graduated in 1978 . From 1979 to 1980 he served as a contract soldier in the German Armed Forces in Koblenz. In 1981 he began studying law at the University of Mainz , which he completed in 1987 with the first state examination in law. From 1982 to 1983 he studied at the University of Dijon . After his legal clerkship in Frankfurt, Hochheim and Brussels , he passed the second state examination in 1990.

Gahler has been a member of the CDU since 1981. He held various board positions there. From 1994 to 2000 he was deputy chairman of the CDU Main-Taunus .
