Michael Gebhart (* in Blumberg ) is a German screenwriter , TV producer and radio host . He lives in Cologne .

TV career

Gebhart has been working as a screenwriter since the late 1990s. He wrote scripts for " TV Kaiser ", " Hellish Neighbors ", "How was I, Doris ?!" (Political satire), "Hotel zum letzte Kliff" (German adaptation of the successful English series "Fawlty Towers", in collaboration with John Cleese) , " The Camper ", "Semi-Detached House", "Pensioners Gang", "VIP Tribune" and a few more.

In 2005 Gebhart founded his own production company "Telegen TV", which is the producer and author of the SAT.1 series "Frech wie Janine" (with Janine Kunze ). In 2007/2008 Gebhart was the author and producer of the RTL series “ Mitten im Leben ” for the production company “Radical Comedy” with Katrin Sass , Heiner Lauterbach and Guntbert Warns , which was nominated for the German TV Prize. This was followed by scripts for, among others, ARD (TV film "Katastrophe ins Glück"). Gebhart works as a freelance producer, u. a. for the Zeitsprung company, in 2011 he produced a television film for the production company "Radical Movies". Since April 2013 Gebhart has been managing director and producer of Radical Movies Production GmbH & Co. Kg in Cologne.

Radio career

Initially, Gebhart had worked as a freelancer for a daily newspaper. Then he did an internship and traineeship at Radio OHR in Offenburg . In 1991 he acted as editor and presenter for RTL Radio , including for the show “American Top 40”. Here he was the author of many radio music series such as "Yeah Yeah Yeah - the life of the Beatles", "Beatnick" or comedy series such as B. “The People at Joe Joe Ranch” or “Courtyard Vacation”.

In 1994 Gebhart switched to Radio FFH in Frankfurt am Main ; there he was editor for entertainment. When 1 Live (WDR) was founded in 1995, he was responsible for on-air promotion and comedy in the waveguide. Since 1998 he has been working at WDR 2 , where he moderates the program WDR2 Pop (8–11:30 p.m.).

Music career

Michael Gebhart is the bass player in the Cologne blues band " Cologne Blues Club ". Their EP "CBC-Live" was produced in summer 2009. Then in autumn 2010 the band signed a contract with the renowned record label "ZYX-Peppercake". Their debut CD "Our Streets" was released in February 2011. The band tours regularly through Germany and other European countries. a. also with the American guitarist Jonny Lang. In September 2013 her album "Hanging by a Thread" was released. The CBC was nominated for the German Blues Challenge in 2012, 2013 and 2014, which no other band had done before. They were also nominated for the German Blues Award in 2013 in the "Best Band" category and in 2014 for "Best Album" .
