Michael Ihnow

Michael Ihnow (born September 2, 1969 ) is a German actor , director and choreographer .

Life

Michael Ihnow became a student of Gret Palucca in Dresden at the age of ten . Engagements as a soloist at the Semperoper Dresden as well as the Komische and Deutsche Oper in Berlin followed. In 2004 he received the theater award from the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung.

In 2005 Ihnow was appointed Artist in Residence at the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, where he produced his interdisciplinary solo performance In_Out_City for the historic Bauhaus stage . In 2006 he presented his work A house is a house in the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice. His scenic work Oedipus: Phase Space was shown in 2007 in Berlin, Thun and Bern. He choreographed Carmen , Rigoletto and the tango opera Maria de Buenos Aires for the Dortmund Opera House .

In 2008 Ihnow worked with Peter Stein at the Opéra National de Lyon , staged Handel's Roman cantatas as Cantata Erotica and played theater on Berlin stages. He is also active in film and television productions.

Michael Ihnow was invited to Argentina at the Teatro Argentino with his tango interpretations . With the support of the Argentine Embassy, ​​he made a guest appearance. a. in the Reichstag President's Palace in Prague, at the State Opera Unter den Linden Berlin and in 2010 with the Russian Philharmonic in Moscow.

He has made guest appearances at festivals in Israel, Cuba, Italy, Latvia, Spain, Holland and Nepal. Further tours and guest engagements have taken him to Austria, Denmark, Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, Norway, Colombia and Switzerland.

Michael Ihnow lives in Berlin and Potsdam .
