Michael Joseph Hennig

Michael Joseph Hennig (born November 22, 1836 in Walldürn ; † March 26, 1915 in Kappel am Rhein ) was a German Catholic clergyman, dean of the Catholic rural chapter of Lahr and center member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly .

Hennig was one of six children born to Franz Hennig and Maria Anna. Schell was born in Walldürn . He studied theology at the University of Freiburg and was prepared for the parish profession in the St. Peter seminary (Upper Black Forest) . After being ordained priest in 1861, he entered the vicariate with stations in Wiesental , Spechbach , Ladenburg , Furtwangen and Offenburg . From 1864 to 1871 Hennig was first parish administrator in Daxlanden / Karlsruhe and then in 1871 he got the parish position in Seelbach near Lahr. From 1890 until his death in 1915 he was pastor in Kappel am Rhein . In 1889, Hennig became clergyman and dean of the Lahr regional chapter , which also included the parish in Kappel am Rhein. During this time he wrote one of the first systematic works on the history of the Lahr area. As a member of the Center Party from 1873 to 1881 and 1888 to 1908, Hennig was a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly.
