Michael Kühne (painter)
Michael Kühne (born February 8, 1955 in Berlin-Tempelhof ) is a German painter .
Career
Michael Kühne graduated from high school in 1975 and worked as a chauffeur for the head of the Berliner Union-Film . This was followed by a degree in art history ( Freie Universität Berlin , 7 semesters; Christian Albrecht University Kiel , 1 semester). In 1976 he became a member of the Kreuzberger Künstler Kreis e. V. - other members were Hugo Hoffmann , Gerhard Kerfin , Kurt Mühlenhaupt , Roland Neumann , Helmut Weber von Wallau , in 1978 he became a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists Berlin e. V.
“... Kuehne has been regularly represented in exhibitions since 1976, he can boast a number of awards and book publications. In 1972 he received the first prize at the German Industrial Exhibition in Berlin, and in 1993, for example, the 4th prize at the 'Centro Arte Milano', which made him famous in other European countries. At the age of 35 he (...) withdrew to the flat country - for 10 years now he has lived (...) in Burg in Dithmarschen , directly behind the Kiel Canal, and draws his inspiration for his meditative and spatial depths Pictures from the vastness and silence of the north German landscape.
