Michael Kneidl

Michael Kneidl (* 1966 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German designer and university professor .

Life

After completing a degree in product design at the Dresden University of Technology and Economics from 1993 to 1997, Kneidl was a lecturer for interactive systems at the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Design from 1997 to 1999 as well as an independent media designer in Munich . He then went to the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences as a lecturer in the design of interactive systems and visual communication . There he was appointed professor in 2005. Since 2000, Kneidl has also been a lecturer for interactive systems at the Ravensburg School of Design . In 2003 he taught on an exchange program at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology .

For the development of an acoustic learning CD, Kneidl and Horst Otto Mayer received the Austrian State Prize for Multimedia and e-Business in 2003 in the category of knowledge and e-learning .

Research priorities

Kneidl conducts research in the field of visual communication design, in particular e-learning , sign systems and interactive systems. One of Kneidl's concerns is to combine research and learning.
