The Ravensburg School of Design is a private educational institution for communication design with a focus on information design and with around 80 study places.

history

The association "Freie Kunstschule Ravensburg" was founded in 1984. Initially, the training of artistic and creative interests and talents in the field of fine arts was the declared purpose of the association. Portfolio preparation courses for prospective students quickly developed into a general artistic foundation year and finally a full-time course in graphic design , which was first offered in 1986.

The school for design in the Kapuzinerstraße in Ravensburg

Since then, this course of study at the school for design in the Kapuzinerstraße in Ravensburg has increasingly proven to be the main activity of the association. In contrast to general artistic offers, the working group responsible for design studies is called the Ravensburg School of Design . The School of Design received an important programmatic impulse when some of its former employees started teaching there after Otl Aicher's death.

After the number of students had fallen sharply, the school for design in Ravensburg announced the closure for 2019 after more than 30 years.
