Michael Koch (born March 19, 1980 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ). In 2019 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1999, which Michael Koch took at the Erich-Hoepner-Oberschule (grammar school) in Berlin-Charlottenburg , he studied history and biology at the University of Potsdam for teaching at grammar schools. However, he did not graduate. From 1999 to December 2009 Michael Koch worked for Barbara Richstein, member of the state parliament . In January 2010 he moved to the Berlin office of the Bundestag member Andrea Voßhoff and, after the 2013 Bundestag election, took over the management of the office of the Bundestag member Uwe Feiler . In addition to his job, Koch completed advanced training for the tasks corresponding to the higher service in local government and graduated as an administrative specialist. Michael Koch is a Protestant and single.

Koch has been a member of the CDU since 1998. In the same year, Koch became a member of the board of the CDU Brieselang . Koch has also been a member of the Havelland CDU district committee since 1999, where he holds the office of deputy district chairman. He is also a member of the state board of the CDU Brandenburg .

MP

Michael Koch has been a member of the Brandenburg state parliament since February 1, 2019 . He moved up for the retired Henryk Wichmann . Michael Koch was a candidate in the 2004 and 2009 state elections , but was unable to prevail against Udo Folgart in the constituency. He left the state parliament after the state election in 2019 .

In the 2014 state elections , Michael Koch received 22.3 percent of the first votes. Michael Koch was a full member of the Science, Research and Culture Committee and the Petitions Committee . There he was rapporteur for the areas of education, parliamentary affairs, expressions of opinion, economy, economic development, work and training. His parliamentary group elected him as spokesman for culture, religion and demography.

Local politics

Koch has lived in Brieselang since 1996 and has been a member of the Brieselang municipal council and Havelland district council since the 2003 local elections. He holds the office of chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in both bodies. Koch has been chairman of the youth welfare committee in the Havelland district council since 2014 . Previously, he was chairman of the Committee on Social Affairs / Education / Culture / Sport and Health. Michael Koch chairs the main committee of the Brieselang municipal council.

Michael Koch is a member of the supervisory board of the Havelland Kliniken group of companies and in the special purpose association meeting of the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse in Potsdam .

The CDU community association Brieselang nominated Koch on November 15, 2018 as their mayoral candidate for the mayoral election on September 1, 2019.
