Henryk Wichmann (born July 10, 1977 in Templin ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2009 to the end of January 2019 he was a member of the Brandenburg state parliament . Since February 2019 he has held the office of alderman in the Uckermark district.

Life and work

He graduated from the Pestalozzi Comprehensive School in Lychen in 1997 . From 1999 to 2006 he studied law at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 2007 he passed the first state examination in law and has been in the legal preparatory service of the state of Brandenburg since August 2008.

Wichmann is Evangelical-Lutheran. He is married and has four daughters. He lives in Lychen .

Wichmann has been a member of the CDU and the Junge Union since 1994 . In 1997 he became press spokesman for the Junge Union Brandenburg. Wichmann has been a member of the CDU Uckermark district executive since 1999 and has been deputy district chairman since 2006. He has been involved in the state board of the Evangelical Working Group (EAK) in Berlin-Brandenburg since 2002 .

Wichmann ran in 2002 as a direct candidate for the Brandenburg CDU in constituency 57 (Uckermark / Oberbarnim) for the German Bundestag , but was unable to enter parliament. He succeeded in increasing the CDU result in his constituency from 21% to 22%, which, however, represented less than half of the SPD votes.

In 1998 he ran in the local elections for the district assembly of the district of Uckermark and became the youngest member of the district assembly. Since the local elections in 2003, Wichmann has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the Uckermark district. In January 2007 he was elected chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in Uckermark. In the local elections in 2008 he stood as the top candidate of his party for the district council in the constituency of Templin / Lychen / Boitzenburg and received the most votes from all candidates with 2501 votes. Since the local elections in 2008, Wichmann has been chairman of the youth welfare committee in the Uckermark district council and deputy chairman of the administrative board of Sparkasse Uckermark and a member of the board of the community foundation of Sparkasse Uckermark.

From 2009 to January 31, 2019 he was a member of the state parliament of Brandenburg. His successor in the state parliament was the Havelland local politician Michael Koch . Wichmann ran in the state electoral district of Uckermark III / Oberhavel IV , but did not receive the direct mandate in the state elections . After Christian Ehler (CDU) had given up his mandate, Wichmann moved into the state parliament on November 1, 2009 via the state list of the CDU Brandenburg as a successor.

In the 2014 state election , Wichmann won a direct mandate with 38% of the first votes (and 26.8% of the second votes); this result was the second best of all CDU Landtag candidates in the 44 Landtag constituencies of Brandenburg .

From November 2014 Wichmann was one of the deputy chairmen of the CDU parliamentary group and spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group for demography and consumer protection.

Wichmann was chairman of the petitions committee and a member of the legal committee as well as a deputy member of the European committee and the judges' selection committee.

He became known nationwide through Andreas Dresen's television documentary Mr. Wichmann from the CDU , from the series Thinking of Germany ... The film was shown in 2003 in several German cinemas.

In 2012 Dresen accompanied his protagonist again in his daily work as a member of the state parliament. The world premiere of the film Mr. Wichmann from the third row took place on February 12, 2012 in the Berlin Kino International in the Panorama section of the 62nd Berlinale . The German theatrical release was on September 6, 2012.
