List of the state electoral districts in Brandenburg
The list of Landtag constituencies in Brandenburg contains the constituencies for elections to the Brandenburg Landtag .
history
Development since 1990
Since the first election to the Brandenburg State Parliament on October 14, 1990, there have been 44 constituencies, each with one direct mandate , and there are as many list mandates again. The constituency at that time was based on the districts and independent cities that were taken over from the former GDR. In the course of the district reform of 1993, the division had to be changed, the number of constituencies and mandates remained constant. With the new version of the Brandenburg State Election Act of January 28, 2004, the classification was changed again. Compared to the previous state elections in 1999 , the division has been adapted to the different population developments in the individual parts of the state as well as to the changed municipal boundaries as a result of the municipal territorial reform . For the state election in 2009, the layout of the constituencies remained unchanged.
Changes to the 2014 state elections
Due to the second law to change the constituency division for the election to the Landtag Brandenburg of May 16, 2013, some changes became effective:
- The basis for the size of the constituencies will no longer be the general number of inhabitants, but the number of those entitled to vote.
- The city of Velten does not belong more to the constituency Oberhavel II , but the constituency Oberhavel I to.
- The constituency of Potsdam-Mittelmark III / Potsdam III loses the municipality of Michendorf to the constituency of Potsdam-Mittelmark II and gains the Potsdam districts of Bornim , Bornstedt , Eiche , Golm , Grube , Nedlitz and Sacrow .
- The constituency of Potsdam I includes the city or districts of the northern inner city , Babelsberg , Klein Glienicke , western suburbs and northern suburbs
- The constituency of Potsdam II includes the city or districts of Drewitz , Kirchsteigfeld , Potsdam Süd , Stern and Südliche Innenstadt / Zentrum Ost
Furthermore, some municipality names were changed (renaming) and the Golßener Land office was deleted, which has now been incorporated into the Unterspreewald office. These changes will take effect for the first time in the sixth election to the Brandenburg State Parliament on September 14, 2014.
The legal minimum number of members of the state parliament is 88, so that in addition to the 44 direct mandates, just as many are awarded for the state lists of the parties or electoral associations. By overhang and compensation mandates their numbers but can increase to up to 110th
