The Office Märkische Switzerland is a 1992 Country Brandenburg formed Office in the district Oderland , in the original eleven municipalities in the former to circle Strausberg had formed a management group. The official seat is the town of Buckow (Märkische Schweiz) . As a result of community mergers, the number of officially affiliated communities has been reduced to five.
Geographical location
The office is located in the south of the Märkisch-Oderland district. It borders on the city of Strausberg in the west and southwest , in the northwest over a short distance on the city of Altlandsberg , in the north on the Barnim-Oderbruch office , in the east on the Neuhardenberg office and on the city of Müncheberg , in the south on the unofficial community Grünheide (Mark) ( Oder-Spree district ) as well as in the southwest and west to the non-governmental municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin .
Municipalities and districts
The Office of Märkische Schweiz administers five municipalities:
- Buckow (Märkische Schweiz) (town) with the municipal parts Buckow and Hasenholz as well as the settlement areas Buchenfried, Dreieichen, Fischerkehle and Pritzhagener Mühle
- Garzau-Garzin with the districts Garzau and Garzin
- Oberbarnim with the districts of Bollersdorf, Grunow, Ihlow and Klosterdorf
- Rehfelde with the districts Rehfelde, Werder and Zinndorf
- Waldsieversdorf
history
On July 13, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the creation of the Office of Märkische Schweiz. July 21, 1992 was set as the date of establishment of the office. The office is based in the town of Buckow (Märkische Schweiz) and initially consisted of eleven communities in what was then the Strausberg district :
- Bollersdorf
- Garzau
- Garzin
- Grunow
- Ihlow
- Monastery village
- Rehfelde
- Waldsieversdorf
- Werder
- Zinndorf
- City of Buckow
On December 31, 2001, the communities of Garzin and Garzau merged to form the new community of Garzau-Garzin. Also on December 31, 2001, the communities of Bollersdorf, Klosterdorf and Grunow formed the new community of Oberbarnim.
On October 26, 2003, the municipality of Ihlow was incorporated into the municipality of Oberbarnim and the municipalities of Werder and Zinndorf into the municipality of Rehfelde. The Märkische Schweiz office now only had five municipalities belonging to the office.

Marco Böttche was on 13 October 2014 by the Office Committee elected for a term of eight years for new office director. He took office on January 11, 2015.
