The 36 constituencies of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament

The list of Landtag constituencies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania lists all constituencies for the election of the Landtag of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

The state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania currently has 71 members in 5 parliamentary groups . Of these, 36 were directly elected with a relative majority in single constituencies. In the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on September 4, 2011, the SPD won 24 direct seats , the CDU 12.

The last state election took place on September 4, 2016 . The SPD won 26 direct mandates, the CDU 7 and the AfD 3.

For the first state election in 1990, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was divided into 33 constituencies. In 1994 the number was increased to 36 and the areas were adapted to local reorganization. This classification has only been changed comparatively little since then.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania there is no legal regulation on the permitted size deviation of the single constituencies from the national average. By law of January 8, 2015, six constituencies were delimited in order to eliminate deviations of more than 30%. These were the following neighboring constituencies: 11 and 15, 24 and 26, 33 and 34 (see numbering on the map in the table). At the same time, the names of many constituencies were adapted to the district reform in 2011 .
