The state electoral district of the Hanseatic City of Rostock III (until 2015: Rostock III) is a state electoral district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . From the Hanseatic city of Rostock, it comprises the “composers' quarter ” in the Reutershagen district and the Kröpeliner-Tor-Vorstadt , Hansaviertel , Gartenstadt , Südstadt and Biestow districts .
The constituency is a stronghold of the SPD, which has always won the direct mandate since reunification .

The directly elected MP Mathias Brodkorb ( SPD ) was appointed Finance Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on November 1, 2016 after the election and the formation of a government in the Sellering III cabinet . He resigned from this office with immediate effect on April 29, 2019. He also resigned from the state parliament in October 2019 and became head of the supervisory board of the Rostock and Greifswald university hospitals. Eva-Maria Kröger ( Die Linke ) and Holger Arppe (for the AfD ) from the Rostock III constituency were also elected to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania via their party's state lists .
The deputy Holger Arppe was in June 2018 from the party and faction of the AFD excluded in the Diet, his after the October 2017 immunity on the recommendation of the Parliamentary Legal Committee of the Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern was lifted unanimously Arppe in May 2018 of the Landgericht Rostock of incitement to Was convicted of a fine of 90 daily rates of 100 € each.
