The Joachimsthal office (Schorfheide) , based in the city of Joachimsthal, is an office in the Barnim district of the state of Brandenburg , in which four municipalities are united to form an administrative association. It was formed in 1992 and initially comprised eight communities in what was then the Eberswalde district .
Geographical location
The office is located in the north of the Barnim district and borders the Schorfheide municipality in the west, the Uckermark district in the north and the Britz-Chorin-Oderberg office in the south.

history
On 17 June 1992 the Minister of the Interior gave its approval to the formation of the Office Joachimsthal / Schorfheide, has been set for the conclusion of June 19, 1992. The seat of the official administration is the city of Joachimsthal. The following eight municipalities from the then Eberswalde district were summarized in it:
- Altenhof
- Friedrichswalde
- Althüttendorf
- Groß-Ziethen
- Klein Ziethen
- Parlow-Glambeck
- Neugrimnitz
- City of Joachimsthal
On February 1, 2002, Groß-Ziethen and Klein Ziethen merged to form the new municipality of Ziethen and Parlow-Glambeck was incorporated into Friedrichswalde. On December 30, 2002, Altenhof was incorporated into the non-governmental municipality of Finowfurt and left the office. On January 1, 2003, Neugrimnitz was finally incorporated into the municipality of Althüttendorf. This reduced the number of municipalities belonging to the office to four.
