history

Kunersdorf was a medieval village that fell in the 15th century. In the 16th century a sheep farm was built there, later a forester's house. In 1817 the road from Michendorf to Treuenbrietzen (today's Bundesstraße 2 ) was expanded. To collect the road money (today one would say toll) a road house was built north of the forestry department. It no longer exists today.

During the National Socialist era, there was a forced labor camp of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in the Neuseddin district . In 1947 a memorial stone was erected on the graves of the victims in the cemetery on Friedhofsgasse, including Soviet and Polish slave laborers, Jewish women and girls and concentration camp prisoners .

On December 6, 1993, in the course of the local elections, the previously independent municipalities Kähnsdorf, Neuseddin and Seddin voluntarily joined together despite their different histories, developments and structures and formed the municipality of Seddiner See, with the Großer Seddiner See as its namesake. All three municipal territories border on this largest body of water in the area.
