New Fahrland
Neu Fahrland is a district of Potsdam . Until 2003, the municipality belonged to the Fahrland district ( Potsdam-Mittelmark district ). In connection with the Brandenburg municipal area reform, Neu Fahrland was incorporated into Potsdam: In contrast to other municipalities, more than two thirds (67.7%) of the eligible voters voted in a referendum on January 27, 2002 for the incorporation of the municipality of Neu Fahrland into the state capital Potsdam.

location
Neu Fahrland is in the north of Potsdam and is cut through by the B 2 . The district borders in the north on the Potsdam districts Fahrland and Krampnitz . Clockwise, the district is bordered by the Krampnitzsee and the Lehnitzsee in the east, the Jungfernsee , the Sacrow-Paretz Canal and the White Lake in the south, and the Fahrlander See in the west , thus creating a “five lakes” which is almost completely enclosed by water -Ortteil ".

Administrative affiliation
Neu Fahrland was a municipality in the Osthavelland district . On April 1, 1939, the place was reclassified to the Potsdam district. On July 25, 1952, he was spun off from Potsdam and thus independent again. On October 26, 2003, Neu Fahrland was again incorporated into Potsdam.
Population development
Due to the heavy building activity after 1990, the population increased from around 900 in 1990 to 1,550 in 2016.
Five bus lines connect the place with Potsdam in 15 minutes and with Berlin-Spandau and the surrounding area in 30 minutes .
Neu Fahrland is connected to the motorway network via the western Berlin motorway ring of the A 10 . The distance to the Potsdam Nord exit is approximately 9 km.

The magazine "Der Neu Fahrländer Landbote", which was discontinued with the July / August 2009 issue, with articles from the town and the region, appeared every two months and was included in the regional magazine "Heveller" from October 2009.
