Michael Lentz (screenwriter)
Michael Lentz (born September 9, 1926 , † November 30, 2001 ) was a German screenwriter and film director .
Life
Sometimes under the pseudonyms Christian Egck, Walter Goritz and Rainer Sprakel, he sometimes also directed . He had few appearances as an actor, most recently as "Grandpa" in the film The White Noise . He also acted as a producer. In 1995 he became a professor at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne in the script / dramaturgy department. He became known to a wider audience as a film critic in the ZDF series Advice for moviegoers . He died just weeks after his wife's death.
Awards
- For the screenplay Every Years Again he received the silver bear at the 1967 Berlinale.
- For the production of the short film Endstation Lentz received the German Film Prize in silver in 1979 .
- In 1983 he received the Adolf Grimme Prize with gold for the documentaries As in the old days .
- For the documentaries Closed Because of Wealth, he received the 1986 Adolf Grimme Prize with bronze.
- He received international awards for the films Obituary for a Beast and The Indian .
