Michael Maisch

Michael Maisch (* 1966 in Karlsruhe ) is a German baroque trumpeter .

Life

Maisch was a student of among others Edward H. Tarr , Bo Nilsson and Reinhold Friedrich . He studied modern trumpet with Horst Dieter Bolz ( University of Music Trossingen ) and baroque trumpet with Michael Laird (Trossingen). He was a member of the Young German Philharmonic Orchestra and the Young Philharmonic Orchestra Stuttgart. Since 1996 he has been a member and since 2001 principal trumpeter of the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra ( Thomas Fey ). He is also a founding member of the Karlsruhe Baroque Orchestra and performs regularly with baroque ensembles such as L'arpa festante and Antichi Strumenti.

His specialization in historical trumpets led him to projects with London Baroque (see Cavalli-Records, Arien & Concerti by Johann Pachelbel ), Reinhold Friedrich, René Jacobs , Martin Haselböck , Bruno Weil and other well-known interpreters in the field of historical performance practice . He played in projects including the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe , the Staatsoper Stuttgart and the Ludwigsburg Palace Festival .

In addition to his work in the field of early music, Maisch regularly plays with the trumpetARTensemble, which he helped found. He has recorded CDs with the Rastatt court orchestra and the Saarbrücken Chamber Choir, among others.

Since the winter semester 2013 Maisch has also been teaching baroque trumpet at the Karlsruhe University of Music .
