Michael Meisenberg

Michael Meisenberg (born  October 31, 1944 in Bad Wiessee ; † July 29, 2020 in Munich ) was a German lawyer . From 2002 to 2009 he was President of the Bamberg Higher Regional Court .

Life

After attending the Oberrealschule München-Pasing at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Meisenberg began studying law . After the first state examination in 1968, he completed his legal clerkship as a research assistant at the chair for criminal law, criminal procedural law and criminology at the University of Regensburg . In 1972 he passed his second state examination and on October 1, 1972, he joined the criminal law department of the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice . In the spring of 1974 he switched to the Munich I public prosecutor's office, but was already delegated to the Bavarian State Representation in Bonn in January 1975 . In October 1976 the Bavarian Justice Minister Karl Hillermeier brought him back to Munich as a personal advisor.

From November 1979 to April 1981 Meisenberg served as a judge at the Regional Court of Munich I and then moved back to the criminal law department of the Bavarian Ministry of Justice with the rank of government director (from July 1, 1982 a ministerial councilor). From October 1, 1984 to September 30, 1985 he worked again as a judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court , then again in the Ministry of Justice, initially as a personnel officer, and from October 1, 1991 as head of the personnel department. From August 2002 to December 2009 he was President of the Bamberg Higher Regional Court .

Meisenberg has been chairman of the Legal Society for Upper and Lower Franconia since it was founded in 2003.
