Michael Meyer-Blanck

Michael Meyer-Blanck (* 1954 in Cuxhaven ) is a Protestant theologian and university professor at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .

Life

From 1972 to 1979 Meyer-Blanck studied in Cologne , Mainz , Heidelberg and Göttingen . In 1979 and 1981 he passed the first and second church exams. He became a clergyman in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover . From 1979 to 1987 he was pastorally active in Göttingen and Bramstedt. From 1987 to 1995 he was a lecturer at the Religious Education Institute in Loccum . He received his doctorate in 1991 and completed his habilitation in practical theology at the University of Münster in 1994 . In 1995 Meyer-Blanck became professor for practical theology and religious education at the Humboldt University in Berlin and in 1997 professor at the University of Bonn .

In 2006 he became chairman of the liturgical conference of the Evangelical Church in Germany. He is also the chairman of the Scientific Society for Theology .

The Senate of the Christian Theological Academy in Warsaw awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2017 .
