Michael Richter (born December 2, 1965 ) is a former German soccer player and journalist.
Career
Richter began his professional career in 1983 at the age of 17 with Arminia Bielefeld . He played his only Bundesliga game on December 1, 1984 against Werder Bremen , when he came on for Rainer Wilk in the 68th minute when the score was 2-2 . The game ended 4-3 for Bremen. After the two seasons 1983/84 and 1984/85 and relegation to the second division , he left Bielefeld and moved to 1. SC Göttingen 05 in the third-class Oberliga Nord .
After two years, Richter moved to league competitor and city rival SVG Göttingen 07 . There he played for six years in the Oberliga team until he was relegated to the state league in the 1992/93 season . From 1993 to 1997 he played for another club from Göttingen , SC Weende .
After his active career, Richter devoted himself to journalistic activities and is currently the head of the regional editorial office north of the kicker sports magazine .
