Michael S. Aßländer
Michael Stefan Aßländer (born May 11, 1963 in Bamberg ) is a German business ethicist . From 2005 to 2010 he held the endowed professorship for business and corporate ethics at the University of Kassel . He currently teaches at the chair for social sciences at the International University Institute Zittau at TU Dresden .
Life
Michael Aßländer studied business administration at the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg (1983–1988) and business administration and sociology at the Vienna University of Economics and Philosophy at the University of Vienna (1985–1986) after graduating from the Riemenschneider High School in Würzburg . After studying philosophy with minor subjects psychology and economics in Bamberg (1984–1990), he studied Russian in Bochum and at the Moscow Institute for Railway Transport Engineering (MIIT) (1990–1991). During his studies he became a member of the student association KDSt.V. Fredericia Bamberg in the CV .
From 1992 to 1998 he completed a doctorate in philosophy at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. From 1997 to 1999 he worked as a research assistant at the Bamberg Chair of Philosophy. From 1999 to 2005 he was a research assistant at the chair for social sciences at the International University Institute in Zittau, where he qualified as a Dr.rer.pol.habil. with the text "From vita activa to industrial value creation - a social and economic history of human work" . Since he was awarded the venia legendi for social sciences, especially business ethics, he has taught at the chair for social sciences at the International University Institute Zittau at the TU Dresden .
From 2000 to 2005 he was head of the office of the German Network for Business Ethics (DNWE). From 2003 to 2005 he was chairman of the staff council at IHI Zittau. He was an advisor to the “Ethics Curriculum Commission” of the Thuringian Ministry of Culture , for the Institute for Development and Research Alternatives (IDRA) and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Tirana .
In 2005 he was offered an endowed professorship for economic and corporate ethics at the University of Kassel . He succeeded Elke Mack , who held the chair from 2002 to 2003.
In 2006/2007 he was chairman of the ethics committee at the University of Kassel and, since 2006, scientific director of the Business Ethics Academy at SAP Business School Vienna.
Since 2007 he has been a member of the advisory board of "Glocalist-Medien" as a representative of the German Network for Business Ethics, of which he has been a board member since 2005. Since 2004 he has been the founding board member of the Austrian Network for Business Ethics (ÖNWE).
Michael Aßländer has published numerous scientific works and essays. Since 2005 he has been the editor in charge of the magazine “Forum Wirtschaftsethik”, and since 2007 a member of the scientific advisory board of the “Zeitschrift für Wirtschafts- und Unternehmensethik”.
Act
In the area of business ethics, Michael Aßländer focuses his “work on the discussion of the normative foundations of business ethics, which focuses on knowledge of the essential instruments of business ethics and the analysis of moral deficits in corporate management. In business ethics, the focus is on teaching the basics of political economy and the topics of work and changing values, as well as discussing the consequences of economic globalization. "
Voluntary engagement
Michael Aßländer trained as a paramedic from 1988 to 1990 and has been a volunteer in the rescue service of the Malteser Aid Service since 1989 . From 1992 to 1998 he was Head of Press and Public Relations in the diocesan office of the Malteser Aid Service in Bamberg.
