For around 15 years he worked as a graphic designer in various advertising agencies, where he rose to become art director . It was not until 2005, eleven years after his first commercially marketed game, that he turned his back on the industry and has since been one of the few full-time game developers in Germany who can make a living from it. He came to inventing games through a writers' competition. Its first publication was in 1992 the game Taxi in the game magazine Spielerei . His first award-winning game was the game Kontor in 1999 , published by Goldsieber . It came on the selection list for Game of the Year . The biggest success so far in 2007 was the game Zooloretto , which was named Game of the Year 2007. It is a further development of his game Coloretto , which took 4th place in the German Games Prize in 2003 and was on the selection list for Game of the Year.

“It's not a job where you can be particularly sure of earning your money. There is a lot of risk involved. You have to be very persistent, very persistent, and a little luck is also part of it. "
