Michael Schramm (musician)

Michael Schramm (born September 15, 1953 in Stuttgart ) is a German conductor , musicologist and officer .

Life

Michael Schramm studied after his military service with the Army Music Corps 9 church music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and conducting at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . During his studies, he decided to re-join the Bundeswehr and became the second music officer in Army Music Corps 4 in Regensburg . He then worked in the same position at the then staff music corps of the Bundeswehr in Siegburg , until he took over the management of Army Music Corps 6 in Hamburg in 1985 . In 1991 he moved back to Siegburg, but now to the training music corps of the Bundeswehr . He also studied again: musicology , linguistics and media studies . He finished his studies in 1997 with his doctorate on " Otto Jahn's music aesthetics and music criticism ".

In 1995 Schramm returned to the staff music corps, which he headed from then until October 2001. He was then head of the military music service and, after its dissolution, the Bundeswehr Military Music Center . He retired there in February 2016 .

Michael Schramm is married and has three children.
