Michael Thiel

Michael Thiel (born April 4, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German psychologist and television presenter .

Life

Michael Thiel studied psychology in Hamburg from 1980 to 1987 and attended further training courses with Paul Watzlawick in the USA. In addition to studying psychology, he completed an acting training a. a. at the Stage School Hamburg .

Thiel has worked as a resident psychologist with a license to practice alternative medicine and as a freelance coach since 1988 , and has worked as a psychologist, media expert and TV presenter in the German-speaking print, radio and television sectors since 1990. With his colleague and wife Annika Lohstroh he founded the media office "Lohstroh + Thiel" and has been the editor of the podcast "Psychologists at Breakfast" together with Lohstroh since May 2018.

Thiel is also socially committed. Together with Annika Lohstroh, he has been responsible for the podcast "Hello, I'm Manfred - A fabric rat wants to know everything about Corona" since 2020, which was created for and in cooperation with the Kinderjahre foundation. The podcast is dedicated to a child-friendly approach to the corona crisis and is intended to support young people in coping with the difficulties encountered during the pandemic. Thiel also supported the Kinderjahre foundation's "School Subject Happiness" initiative.
