Michael Timm (singer)

Michael Timm (born January 7, 1954 in Gütersloh ) is a German bass-baritone .

Life

Michael Timm studied school music , singing and trombone in Detmold at the Northwest German Music Academy . In 1984, after passing the first state examination, he switched to teaching at the Freiburg University of Music and studied geography and musicology at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . Freelance concerts and productions with Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne followed . In 1989 he became a member of the RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin. Master classes with William Workman and Siegfried Lorenz followed . In 1991 he switched to the Rundfunkchor Berlin . He perfected his solo activity by joining the vocal quartet Drops and the Ensemble Vokalzeit . In 2005 he founded the Berlin Film Choir together with Sören von Billerbeck .
