Michael Turner (* 13. February 1982 in Waukegan , Illinois ) is a former American IFAF poker players in the position of running backs . He played nine years for the San Diego Chargers and the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Turner went to high school in North Chicago , Illinois . He later went to Northern Illinois University . Overall, he ran for the College Football team 3,293 yards in 630 runs in three years (5.2 yards per run).

NFL

San Diego Chargers

Turner was selected in the NFL Draft 2004 in the fifth round as a total of 154 players by the San Diego Chargers . In his first year he was mainly part of the Chargers Special Team . In the three years that followed, he was only the backup running back behind Pro Bowler LaDainian Tomlinson . Turner scored six touchdowns for the Chargers between 2005 and 2007 , his first in his career on November 20, 2005 in a 48:10 win over the Buffalo Bills .

Atlanta Falcons

On March 2, 2008, Turner signed a six-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons . In his first game of the season against the Detroit Lions , he broke the single game franchise record for the Falcons by scoring 220 yards in 22 runs and two touchdowns. Overall, he ran in his first season for the Falcons 1,699 yards, more yards than in the four previous years combined with the Chargers. He also achieved his personal career best in touchdowns scored during the season (17). In 2008 and 2010 Turner was nominated for the Pro Bowl . On March 1, 2013, Turner was fired. In his five years with the Falcons, he scored 61 touchdowns, 60 of which were run, which is a franchise record.
